Fellow Mustang Northwest Members:

The February Mustangs Northwest general meeting has been canceled due to unavailable meeting place.  I applied online for a room at North Seattle College as I was told.  After not hearing from someone, I contacted the person who has helped us with the Round Up contract.  He investigated my room request only to find that the online applications were not being monitored regularly.  That left us out in the cold with no place to meet for February.  I have him working on the request for a room for March and going forward.  We have requested a room where we can have food so that we can hold meetings with less business and more social time.  We welcome everyone.  I would like to begin the general meetings at 7:00PM rather than 7:30.  Let me know what you think of the earlier start time.  The meetings will be held the second Friday of every month except for January where we hold our annual banquet to acknowledge those who planned and worked at the shows and to introduce the new board and officers.

I would like to thank our New Venue Committee, Ron Foster, Chair, Mike Hunsley, Corey Graham and Jeff Schonbrun who were instrumental in investigating the venue, meeting with North Seattle College, and securing a contract for Round Up.  I signed the contract on January 20th so we officially have a new venue for Round Up 2022.  Thank you, gentlemen.  Job well done!

Round Up Planning Committee has been planning since November.  Based on our timeline we are in great shape.  We have put together a budget and will present that to the Board on Monday.  The Ride and Drive online registration is now open to register.  All the shows will require online registration.  If you know of someone who cannot go online, let us know and we will make sure they get registered.

We are planning on holding our Spring Into Summer show at Remlinger Farms on May 7th. Round Up will be July 14 through 17th this year.  We are not planning a Pony Trail but will be holding a meet and greet with Billy Johnson at Pierre Ford on Friday evening.  Judged Show will be Saturday and People’s Choice show on Sunday.  We are adding one more show in September.  Last year we did a very relaxed, fun show at Remlinger Farms in September and it was very well attended for such short notice.  We asked those in attendance if they wanted us to put this type of show on again and it was a unanimous “yes”.  Watch the web site and Face Book for additional information as it becomes available.

It’s just about time to get those stangs dusted off and in shape for 2022 fun in the sun.  Take care and I hope to see you in March at our next general meeting.
